Shiny Pokémon are one of the best parts of Pokémon GO, and it’s always exciting to catch a rare Pokémon with a high CP. But what if we hadn’t yet caught your favorite shiny? We’ve compiled a list of all the shinies that are still out there in the wild that haven’t been caught by many people (yet). One person has only caught some! So if you’re looking for something new and exciting to add to your collection, check out this list and get caught!
1. Shiny Party Hat Nidorino
The Party Hat Nidorino is a very rare Pokémon that was first released on May 24th, 2017. It is a shiny variation of the original Nidoking, but with the added bonus of being in a party hat. If you’re lucky enough to find one in your collection, this Pokémon will be an excellent addition to any Pokémon GO player’s collection!
2. Shiny Woobat
When you first see a Woobat in Pokémon GO, it can be difficult to tell whether or not it’s shiny. Sometimes they’re almost impossible to tell apart from their regular counterparts, but there are some signs you can look for if you’re trying to find out if your Woobat is shiny.
If your Woobat has a different texture than usual, it might be shiny! This texture change may include bright blue highlights on its wings and body or green spots on its belly instead of red ones like in the regular version (see picture above). If this looks weird to you at first glance, don’t worry—it’s supposed to look weird! Shiny-ness isn’t something that always translates well into 3D models and textures; sometimes, things just don’t work as well when scaled up from 2D sprites onto 3D bodies.
3. Shiny Costume Gengar
If you’re a fan of Gengar but haven’t found the elusive monster yet, don’t worry. Shiny Gengar is not just rare in Pokémon GO—it’s also extremely hard to catch. The only way to get your hands on one is if a player with a shiny Gengar decides to transfer it into your account as a gift (or for money).
The odds of finding one yourself are incredibly low: only 1 in every 447 Pokémon are shiny, and only 1 in every 510 hatched eggs will be shiny. However, if you manage to find one, their rarity will compensate for their lack of abilities. Unlike normal Genghas, whose maximum CP limit is 860 points and drop off, Shiny Genghas maxes out at 1120 points before dropping down again. This makes them great gym defenders since they can hold them longer than other monsters without going away after reaching their peak level! You might even see some players talk about having “legendary” Genghas because they’ve been able to hold onto these monsters longer than usual due to their higher stat caps!
4. Shiny Meloetta Hat Galarian Ponyta
You can get this Pokémon as a shiny by hatching an egg or capturing it in the wild.
Galarian Ponyta is a fire/ghost type Pokémon with a base stat total of 615. It is one of the rarest shinies, but it’s not the only one to be considered so. Shiny Meloetta Hat Galarian Ponyta is also extremely rare, which makes it even more challenging to find and catch.
5. Shiny Krabby
It’s time to start catching up on Pokémon GO because there’s a shiny Krabby that you can finally hatch without spending an entire night in front of your phone. It’s not just any old shiny Krabby: The yellow crab with its red eyes is one of the rarest shinies in the game. You can only get this rare Pokémon by hatching it from an egg or catching one during an event. And as far as we know, there are no events coming up anytime soon where you can catch shiny Krabys (or Kinglers).
6. Shiny Abra
If you’re into the whole “shiny Pokémon” deal, there’s no better place than to start with Abra. Shiny Abra is a psychic-type Pokémon commonly found in the wild and known for its teleport ability. However, you’re probably not going to find one anytime soon—shinies are rarer than other types of Pokémon.
If you want your shiny Abra, go ahead and catch one by using Poké Balls at a PokéStop or Gym during daylight hours (the game will not allow you to search for shinies at night). Then check it out in your collection: if it’s silver-colored instead of blue, congratulations! You’ve successfully caught yourself one of these elusive critters.
7. Shiny Detective/Ash’s Hat-Wearing Pikachu
You probably know Ash Ketchum’s name if you’re a Pokémon GO fan. If you don’t know who Ash Ketchum is, look him up on Wikipedia and get to know him. He’s been the protagonist of many different Pokemon TV series since being introduced in 1998.
Well, one of his most iconic items was his hat—the same one that Pikachu wore. This hat can only be found as a shiny in Pokémon GO! It’s very rare, and not many people have it yet because it hasn’t been around for too long yet… but we do have some good news: they’re still out there! You just need to play hard enough and be patient enough to find one!
8. Shiny Witch/Party/Santa Hat-Wearing Pichu
Shiny Pichu is a Pokémon that can be found in the wild in Pokémon GO. It is a particular variant of Pichu that has a shiny coloring, making it rarer than normal Pichu.
The only way to get Shiny Pichu is through an egg or walking around until it appears on your screen and captures it. You can also find Shiny Pichus in the wild, but this will require you to have 100 candy from capturing other normal-colored Pikachus before going off on your adventure in hopes that one of them will turn out to be shiny.
9. Shiny Lunatone
A Psychic-type Pokémon, Lunatone’s signature move is Cosmic Power. Lunatone can be evolved into Solrock at level 40, and it can evolve into either of them again at level 60 if you have a Moon Stone.
Lunatone is a dual-type Rock/Psychic Pokémon that evolves from Cosmoem when leveled up in Pokemon Sun or Moon. It’s part of the Mineral family, and its name comes from “luna” (Latin for moon) and “tome,” which means book or volume in French—fitting considering its appearance!
10. Shiny Unown
Shiny Unown is a rare shiny Pokémon and is a Psychic type. Unown is a Pokémon from the Johto region, which was introduced in the Gold, Silver, and Crystal games. Unown has the letter ‘A’ on its forehead and can be found in locations like Mt Mortar or Ruin Valley while you’re playing Pokémon GO.
Unown also has a variant form of it as well called “Ruin Maniac.” This makes it even rarer to find, but if you come across this Shiny Pokémon, be sure to catch them!
11. Shiny Clefairy
A fairy-type Pokémon, Clefairy has a low chance of being shiny. It’s a great choice to add to your team if you’re looking for something that can help you during gym battles. If you want to trade it off or sell it, it’ll probably be challenging to find another player who wants a shiny Clefairy—so keep that in mind before trading one away!
12. Shiny Zubat
You’ll find a Shiny Zubat randomly while you’re out and about in the Pokémon GO world. Zubat is a dual type and has a dark/flying type. It’s nocturnal, so you can expect it to be active at night. This Pokémon is also one of the rarest and can be found in grasslands, caves, and forests worldwide.
13. Shiny Alolan Marowak
You can find Alolan Marowak in the wild and at Raids. This Pokémon is a Ghost/Fire type that evolves from Cubone after it’s been traded while holding a Thick Club, so you’ll need to make sure your Alolan Marowak has one equipped before you trade it away.
Alolan Marowak is not only unique because of its typing and evolution method — but it also has some pretty good stats! Its Attack stat is higher than most other Pokémon within its own typing (except Exeggutor), making it great for taking down high-leveled Raid Bosses like Tyranitar and Machamp.
14. Shiny Alolan Vulpix
The Alolan Vulpix is a rare shiny Pokémon that can be found in the wild in Pokémon GO. It is a fox-like Pokémon and evolves into Alolan Ninetales when leveled up with high friendship.
This adorable creature has a snowy white coat, pink ears and nose, blue eyes, and six tails, each having its own color: red, yellow, green, blue, black, or white.
15. Shiny Nidorina/Nidoqueen
Nidorina/Nidoqueen is a pure Poison-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. Nidorina, and its evolution are the female counterparts of Nidorino/Nidoking. They share similar traits to their male counterparts, such as body structure and markings.
Their bodies are black with purple spots on their backs and sides; the spots on their back resemble those on a cobra. The horn atop its young’s head is short when they first hatch from eggs but grows longer as it ages until it resembles that of an adult’s. The horns around its neck have been known to break teeth when biting down on prey or attacker alike, which will cause them great pain until healed through medicine or restorative items like Potions or Super Potions.
16. Shiny Alolan Grimer
Alolan Grimer is a shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO. It can be found in the wild in the Kanto region, but not until level 30 or higher. Alolan Grimer is a Poison/Dark-type Pokémon that evolves into Alolan Muk at level 38.
Alola from Grimer’s stats have been nerfed from their original stats, but it’s still an effective attacker when evolved into Alolan Muk. You’ll want to catch one if you’re looking for a top-tier fighter!
If you’re a Pokémon GO player and you’re looking for the rarest shinies in the game, then this list is perfect for you! We know that finding these special Pokémon can be difficult, so we made sure to include all of the most sought-after shinies on our list.
