A watch party is a way of watching together with friends and family. Everyone brings their laptop or phone, and with the help of a website like [Amazon Prime], everyone can see what everyone else is seeing at the same time without having to disconnect from their devices.
This can be great for people who want to get together with friends but don’t have time to meet in person or travel far distances between each other’s homes.
There are many reasons why you should set up an Amazon Watch Party:
- It saves time on traveling between houses if your friends live in different places;
- You can enjoy watching TV shows together even if you’re far away from each other (for example, when one friend goes on vacation);
Steps to Set Amazon Watch Party Below
1. Download the extension.
The first thing you need to do is download the extension from the Amazon website. You’ll want to be using Google Chrome, so if you’re not already running that browser, download it now and then go back to the Amazon website.
The process of installing the extension is super easy: just click “Add To Chrome” in the popup window when it appears after downloading, and then make sure that “Allow” is selected when prompted by your browser. That’s all there is to it!
2. Sign in to Your Prime Video account.
Next, you need to sign in to your Prime Video account.
If you’re already an Amazon Prime member, this is done automatically when you click the “Start Watching” button on your invitation. If not, sign up for a free trial of Prime here and then log into the App with the same login credentials.
3. Open Up a Video and Click the “Watch Party” Button.
First, you’ll need to ensure that your party is set up through the extension. Open up a video and click the “Watch Party” button. This should be a chat bubble icon in the top right corner of the video page. The button will only appear if you’re logged into Amazon Prime Video and watching an eligible video as a Prime Member (excluding other platforms such as YouTube). It’s also important to note that this feature isn’t available on every show or movie on Prime Video yet, but it should get better over time!
4. Invite Friends to the Party By Sending them the Link.
- Send out invites via text or email. You can also copy/paste the link into Facebook, Twitter, or any other app.
- Make sure to send the invite well before the movie starts so your friends have time to get ready for the party. If you send it too early, your friends will forget about it and not come!
- A unique link for each movie allows users to access just that one film on their computer or mobile device (if they happen to be using Amazon Prime).
5. Start Watching Together.
You’re all set. Your viewers can now start watching the show, and you’ll be able to watch along with them on your computer or mobile device. Remember that everyone must be on a desktop or laptop computer—iPhones and iPads won’t work for this. And if it’s possible, try to get together in person so you can enjoy a little friendly competition during the game.
It’s important to note that each user must be in the same country as their Amazon account; otherwise, they won’t have access to Prime Video content!
The last thing I want to mention is synchronous playback: This feature allows all users’ streams (whether live or recorded) to appear at once so you can discuss what’s happening in real-time as it happens during an event like The Big Game—or any other occasion where people are watching together but not physically present with each other like Thanksgiving dinner or Christmas morning after opening presents.
6. Chat With Friends Within the Party Screen.
To chat with friends, click the Chat button in the top right corner of your screen. Type your message and press Enter to send it. Your message will appear in the chatbox, where it will be visible to all party members of your Amazon Watch Party.
It’s Easy to Start Watching Movies with Friends Online Now!
To start a party, click “Start” on the upper left corner of your screen. You’ll be prompted to enter a name for your party and invite friends.
When someone joins, you’ll see their name appear on the screen and their profile picture. To chat with them, just hit enter on your keyboard—it works like any other messaging app!
During the movie, you can pause it by clicking “Pause” on our remote control icon in the upper right corner of your screen. Or if you want some time away from everyone else while they’re watching without missing anything important, click “Exit” at any time and return home as usual; no one will know where you’ve gone!
You now have all the tools you need to host your own Amazon Watch party. You can even invite your friends over and show them how great it is to support an organization working toward a better future. Since it was so much fun, why don’t you get together again next month? Soon enough, your friends will be hosting their parties!
